ASSESSMENT 2: Video Presentation of Global Health Drivers & Challenges in a Particular Country

Aims

Nutrition Assignment HelpThe aim of this assessment is to consolidate your learning about current key drivers and challenges in global health. The assessment also aims to enhance your skills of synthesising information and communicating in different ways.

Learning Outcomes

This assessment aligns with the intended course learning outcomes

  1. Evidence a critical understanding of key terminology and concepts in global health.
  2. Effectively communicate knowledge of key drivers and challenges in global health.

Weighting

This assessment is summative. It will contribute 50% of your final course grade.

Due Date

Before 12 noon on Thursday 28th November 2024.

Late submissions without a good cause extension will result in a deduction of marks in line with the University policy on late submission of work.

Instructions

Format

Produce a 5 minute video presentation about the key drivers and challenges for global health within a country of your choice.

You may use Panopto or your own media tool to produce your audio-visual recording. Instructions for using Panopto are available within the University toolkit

To help you structure your thoughts when planning your presentation you should make use of PowerPoint slides or other visual media. You can find further guidance on using PowerPoint within the University toolkit

You should use the guidance provided in Appendix 1 to help prepare for your presentation.

You should also submit a copy of your slides and a transcript of your audio.

As a minimum, you should record yourself on camera for the first slide, but ideally throughout the presentation.

Word Count / Length

The video should be a maximum of 5 minutes in length. You will not be penalised for going under the time limit as the ability to communicate succinctly is a skill we want to encourage you to develop, however, you will be penalised for exceeding the time limit. Going over the time allowance will affect the mark within the rubric element of ‘structure & timing’.

Referencing Style

References should be embedded into the appropriate slide. Referencing style can be Harvard or Vancouver. No final ‘references’ slide is required.

Academic Integrity and Declaration of Generated Material

Please note that this presentation should be primarily your own work and completed in line with

it is recommended that you make use of the draft Turnitin available within the course to help you when preparing your submission.

You may make limited use of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) tools with this assessment for enhancing content that you have generated, for example improving tone, grammar or look, provided you acknowledge them and the extent of their use. Please note that you should not be using these tools to generate the content for you. This includes (but not limited to): Bing Chat, ChatGPT, DALL-E 2, GitHub Co-pilot, Google Bard, Perplexity AI. Use of writing aids, such as Editor within Microsoft Word and Grammarly, are permitted, and do not need to be acknowledged.

As a minimum, at the end of your presentation, you should include a slide of declaration of use that explains what technologies, if any, you have used to generate material in working on your assessment.

You should:

  • Provide an acknowledgment of the use of generative artificial intelligence
  • Specify which technology was used
  • Include explicit descriptions of how the information was generated
  • Identify prompts used
  • Explain how the output was used in your work.

Example:

I acknowledge the use of [Insert name of GenAI tool(s)] from [url of GenAI tool(s)] to [Insert a statement

summarising their use]. I entered the following prompts on [Insert date]: [Insert prompts] and [Insert

description of how the generated content was used]

OR

No content generated by AI technologies has been used in this assessment.

Failure to comply with this guidance may result in referral to the academic integrity committee.

Marking Criteria

Marked using the marking scheme outlined on page 5.

Submission Information

Please note that you should be submitting 3 items to the dropbox within

: 1) presentation recording, 2) presentation slides, 3) transcript of audio.

Please submit your video to

by copying and pasting the URL from Panopto into the Write Submission part of the final dropbox. Please make sure you have set the sharing for your Panopto video to ‘anyone at your organisation with the link’.

If you are submitting a recording within PowerPoint itself, you should save this as an mp4 file for submission.

You should submit a transcript of your audio to the dropbox.

You should submit a copy of your slides to the dropbox too.

Note: Your submission will not be considered as complete until you have submitted all the required documents and your recording is accessible to the markers and therefore if this submission guidance is not followed you may be subject to a late submission penalty
